Whitewater rafting in Idaho is an experience people never forget. We offer Middle Fork of the Salmon River rafting. This spectacular river is the Salmon's largest tributary and the crown jewel of the Wild and Scenic River System. The crystal clear free-flowing river is spring fed from high alpine meadows. The upper reaches of this drainage drop rapidly through thickly forested alpine settings, then, aided by dozens of tributaries, it soon doubles in size becoming a rushing river with major rapids. As dense forest greenery gives way, the canyon alternates between grassy mountain meadows and sheer granite cliffs.
The legendary and primitive Middle Fork of the Salmon cascades through 105 miles of the most inaccessible and awesome country in the world. It is rugged, wild, and relatively untouched. You'll experience over 80 major rapids with the only route to the canyons of the Middle Fork, in some cases, being the river itself. There are few trails to the ancient Indian campsites, hot springs and homesteads. The lower 30 miles, known as the "Impassable Canyon", is so remote that there is not even a trail.
We specialize in adventure vacations and our experienced professionals will guide you along every step of the trip. Early in the summer season you'll experience some of the most thrilling whitewater available anywhere. Middle Fork trips range from 3 to 6 days in length.
While it is possible to join one of our Rainbow Rafting trips at the last minute, most of our guests book their trips 4 to 6 months in advance. Because we have a limited number of seats available on each launch, we recommend making your reservations as early as possible to ensure your preferred vacation time.
